Saint Priest Les Fougeres is a typical French village which has some basic local amenities \u2013\u00a0a bar \/ restaurant, a post office and a\u00a0boulangerie \/ small super market. The restaurant also serves takeaway pizzas for you to enjoy back at the lakes. Saint Priest Les Fougeres is a couple of\u00a0 minutes drive away or a 10 minute bike ride away. Larger super markets can be found 10 minutes away such as a Carrefour Contact in La Coquille and a new Intermache in Chalus. There are plenty of \u201csuper\u201d super markets available too which are about 30 minutes away. Fishing licences for your holiday can be purchased locally in Miallet or online. These are great places to spend the summer days with your family and children, picnicking or with a BBQ, relaxing or\u00a0swimming. We really are extremely lucky to be able to enjoy these great places. These vary in terms of length and\u00a0levels of skill required \/ fitness and are clearly marked. We will be happy to provide you with maps and point you in the right direction.<\/p>\n<p>Nearby you can also\u00a0enjoy canoeing, Horse Riding, spend time at a local Donkey Santuary, visit Brantome Police Horses. We are also close by to the wonderful town of Brantome which is described as the French Venice and there are plenty of beautiful villages, caves\u00a0and Chateaus to explore. The weekly\u00a0French markets are somewhere you must also\u00a0visit. There is always plenty to do and places to go. You find that this area is unspoilt by tourism and everyone enjoys a slower pace of life rather than trying to keep up with commercialism.<\/p>\n<p>We are within the Parc Naturel Regional Perigord-Limousin in a beautiful setting\u00a0of trees and rolling countryside. We are in the \u201cPerigord Vert\u201d region which is a natural region and part of the \u201cPerigord\u201d which is a former province of France which corresponds roughly to the current Dordogne department, now forming the northern part of the Aquitaine region.\u00a0\u00a0 It is divided into four regions, the P\u00e9rigord Noir (Black), the P\u00e9rigord Blanc (White), the P\u00e9rigord Vert (Green) and the P\u00e9rigord Pourpre (Purple). The geography and natural resources of P\u00e9rigord make it a beautiful, unspoiled region rich in history and wildlife,<sup id=\"cite_ref-1\" class=\"reference\">[<\/sup>and the newly created Parc Naturel R\u00e9gional P\u00e9rigord-Limousin aims to conserve it as such.<\/p>\n<p>The area is noted for its\u00a0<a title=\"Cuisine\" href=\"http:\/\/uk.ask.com\/wiki\/Cuisine?qsrc=3044&amp;lang=en\">cuisine<\/a>, especially its\u00a0<a title=\"Duck\" href=\"http:\/\/uk.ask.com\/wiki\/Duck?qsrc=3044&amp;lang=en\">duck<\/a>\u00a0and\u00a0<a title=\"Goose\" href=\"http:\/\/uk.ask.com\/wiki\/Goose?qsrc=3044&amp;lang=en\">goose<\/a>\u00a0products, such as\u00a0<i><a title=\"Duck confit\" href=\"http:\/\/uk.ask.com\/wiki\/Duck_confit?qsrc=3044&amp;lang=en\">confit de canard<\/a><\/i>\u00a0and\u00a0<i><a title=\"Foie gras\" href=\"http:\/\/uk.ask.com\/wiki\/Foie_gras?qsrc=3044&amp;lang=en\">foie gras<\/a><\/i>. It is known as a centre for\u00a0<a title=\"Tuber (fungus)\" href=\"http:\/\/uk.ask.com\/wiki\/Tuber_(fungus)?qsrc=3044&amp;lang=en\">truffles<\/a>\u00a0in France. P\u00e9rigourdine wines include\u00a0<a title=\"Bergerac wine\" href=\"http:\/\/uk.ask.com\/wiki\/Bergerac_wine?qsrc=3044&amp;lang=en\">Bergerac<\/a>\u00a0(red and white) and\u00a0<a title=\"Monbazillac AOC\" href=\"http:\/\/uk.ask.com\/wiki\/Monbazillac_AOC?qsrc=3044&amp;lang=en\">Monbazillac<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Our nearest airport is Limoges (50 minutes) but we are also near to Bergerac, Bordeaux and Brive airports which are approximately 2 hours away. The nearest train station is \u201cLa Coquille\u201d which is on the trainline from Limoges to Bordeaux.
